Mendola Artists had the unique opportunity to participate in McKee
Foods' pre-launch campaign for Drake’s Cake. McKee recently purchased
the brand, and reintroduced it during its 125th anniversary. The
campaign centers on a missing Drake’s duck wandering around New York
City. Each illustrator had to feature the Drake’s duck in either a
current or historic setting.
Take a look at a variety of final illustrations, including a few from Gerald and Cullen Rapp artists--help us find that missing duck!
It's always fun to view the beginning stages of a project. Below, take a look at a collection of artists' drafts prior to completion.

The original idea was to convert a 48-foot trailer with the Drake illustrations appearing on each side, creating a moving art gallery that would travel around New York City. The art found a home in the Columbus Circle subway station where it was displayed.
