Boston Beer (Samuel Adams) and Blue
Moon are working with two of our painters, Dahl Taylor and Shelly Bartek, to
establish the look of their product lines. In both cases it is the
perfect marriage of hand painted art with high quality, hand-crafted brewing.
The last time we caught up with Dahl Taylor he was busy working on unique label illustrations for small batch 22 oz beers like Grumpy Monk and Cinder Block. The visionaries at Boston Beer were so impressed that they wanted Dahl's hand on virtually all their product lines and promotional materials. Dahl has worked on everything from label concept sketches to six- and twelve-pack art for their major brands to seasonal on-premise promotions such as football- themed bar coasters. Below is a sampling of his latest work including a chalk pastel portrait of Samuel Adams.
Shelly Bartek has been
conceptualizing with the Integer Group to create beautifully rendered
illustrations for Blue Moon for print and TV. She is able to create
a fresh and dynamic scene with a quick gesture, using Alkyd Oils.
Shelly's paint strokes reinforce the Blue Moon positioning as an artisanal,
hand-made product. We are thrilled to share it with you--please let
